Emergencies
The library is not an emergency service. The reference desk is staffed during office hours and answers written enquiries within two business days. If someone is in danger, call emergency services. For urgent public safety instructions, follow your municipal and provincial authorities, which publish current information as conditions change.
Accuracy and currency
We take care that entries are accurate when published and we review them on a schedule, but the catalogue may contain errors and may be out of date between reviews. Every entry shows its review date. Where an entry summarises guidance issued by a public body, it states when that summary was checked and directs you to the source, which takes precedence over our summary in every case.
If you find an error, please tell the desk. Confirmed corrections are made promptly and recorded in a revision note on the entry.

Entries link to public bodies and other organisations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link indicates that we found the source useful at the time of review, not that we endorse the organisation or everything it publishes.
